Kristi is now a junior at Los Alamitos High School. In November she closed her first main stage production of Once Upon a Mattress, a retelling of the classic story, The Princess and the Pea. She is now busy putting on a smaller production of A Seussified Christmas Carol where she will be playing her first starring role of Narrator. She continues to be a part of her school improv team and loves performing with her teammates every month.  Her favorite part of our vacation was watching Les Miserables in London and meeting her favorite actress, Carrie Hope Fletcher who played Eponine. Another favorite of hers was visiting the Scottish Highlands and learning about the history and folklore of the magnificent country.

Katie is now a sophomore at Life Pacific College, in San Dimas, CA, finishing up her GE's and studying in Transformational Ministry, with the end goal of becoming a preschool teacher. Katie is working hard in her first 'real' job, in the school's cafeteria, part-time. She had a great internship over the summer at Parkcrest Christian Church, the Gundhus' home church, planning and preparing events for the student ministry. Her favorite part of vacation was catching up with the Fearn family (our friends from our 2013 Europe trip), visiting Norway again, seeing Scotland for a few days and taking hundreds of pictures of Scotland and all of its green glory. Here is Katie eating haggis on Loch Ness.

Renee had the opportunity to work more this year, her workload doubled this year due to the fact her boss retired and merged her accounting firm with another firm, located in Orange, near Anaheim Stadium.  Renee’s mom is doing fairly well at the assisted living facility she’s been at for the past few years.  Renee and John ran in 4 half marathons, Long Beach, Surf City, Orange County, and San Francisco, a big increase over just doing Long Beach.

John is still at Nestle after 23 years but transferred from the Telecom team after 10 years and is now supporting the North and South America Data Networks as a project manager.  John also continues to volunteer at their Church on camera, lighting and computer.  The softball team is still going strong.  They won the league in the winter season and just finished their 60th season this fall.  His favorite parts of the summer vacation are too many to mention but he did love the Blue Nose Ceremony and award conducted by a ship’s officer upon the crossing the Arctic Circle on route to Iceland.

We enjoyed an amazing vacation.  We flew to San Francisco where John and Renee ran a half marathon at the San Francisco Marathon, the highlight of which was running across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Then we flew to London, spending 1 day in city ending with Les Miserables and another in Bath, England before our cruise, visiting Bergen, Alesund, and Geiranger in Norway, Klaksvik in the Faroe Islands and Reykjavik in Iceland.  After the cruise we took a train from London to Edinburgh, Scotland and took a 3 day tour of the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands staying at Portree 2 nights before spotting Nessie on our way back to Edinburgh.
