Now Playing: "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

Happy Holidays to our family and friends.  We hope you are enjoying the holiday season.  Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to this year.

Kristi is 11 and is in 5th grade at Los Alamitos Elementary.  She’s enjoying her last year of elementary school.    Kristi broke her arm just before Halloween.  She fell off the bars at school.  She was a trooper having her arm in a sling for several weeks.  She is almost fully recovered now.  Kristi (and mom) continue to take piano lessons and just survived our Christmas recital.  She also sings in her school chorus and swims along with Katie on the YMCA swim team.

Katie is in 8th grade at McAuliffe Middle School in Los Alamitos.  It blows our mind she’ll be in high school next year.   She is very active in the junior high youth group at our church and is really into making videos and putting them out on You Tube.  In January, Katie went to Washington D.C. and New York City with a group from her school.  She was at the presidential inauguration and got to see the monuments, Smithsonian, “Wicked” on Broadway, and Times Square.

Renee continues to work part time during tax season, and take care of the family and house stuff the rest of the time.  She ran the half marathon at the Long Beach Marathon in October, getting slower every year, but oh well...

John just finished his 17th year with Nestle.  He’s on a project to combine 4 North American Nestle operating companies IT departments into 1.  This is causing lots of travel to Phoenix, St. Louis and Toronto.  He’s still coaches his softball team.  They finished 2nd in the summer, were moved to the upper division and somehow the old guys won the Fall Championship.  The best part is celebrating after the game with Pizza and Beer and the company of team mates ranging from 1 to 20 years of playing together.

We enjoyed a great vacation this year.  We went on a week long Mexican Rivera cruise in July.  We stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan.  One of the highlights of the trip was getting into a pool with dolphins and getting our pictures taken with them.  We also went camping for a few days in August with our friends Dave and Jenny and their daughters.

We hope you all have a great Christmas and Happy New Year.
