Now Playing: "White Christmas"

Happy holidays to all our family and friends.  Here's a short recap of what we have been up to this year.  Please click on any of the thumbnails for a larger picture.

Kristi is nine years old and in the third grade.  She’s been keeping busy with swim club, Brownies, and piano lessons.  She also started taking violin lessons at our school this year.  She continues to love to read.  Kristi spent a week in church camp in the mountains.  We were so proud of her being brave enough to go to this alone.

Katie is eleven years old and in the sixth grade.  This has been a challenging school year so far.  Middle school is extremely rigorous, but Katie is persevering and is doing well.  Katie is also in swim club.  She’s taking a break from piano lessons right now, but she is in beginning orchestra at school.  She is playing the viola.  In November, Katie cut off about 12 inches of her hair.  She has been growing it out for about two years now.  She donated it to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair through  illness.

Renee keeps plugging away on the usual stuff.  There is rarely a dull moment between taking care of home stuff, kids, etc.  Renee worked taxes this last busy season and ran her eighth half marathon at the Long Beach Marathon in October.

John has been at Nestlé for 15 years and is still with the Telecom and Network teams.  There were layoffs and although John survived, 4 of his staff were let go.  This has caused him to travel more to support the Telecom installations.  He spent 2 weeks in humid Solon Ohio on Labor Day and got an early white Christmas in Waverly Iowa in December surviving 2 storms in 1 week.  John is still playing softball and the men’s team he coaches won back-to-back championships the Winter and Summer leagues and is currently in 2nd place in the Fall league.

We took a little get away over spring break this year.  We went camping for one night in San Clemente and spent a few days in San Diego and crossed the border into Tijuana for some shopping.

One of the big events of our year has been our big bathroom remodel.  As we write this, we have completed Katie and Kristi’s bathroom and are currently working on the downstairs bath.  It has been quite an experience.  We have learned more than we ever wanted to know about bathrooms, but they will look awesome when they’re done.

We hope all of you have a great holiday season and 2008!
